Presidency breaks silence on Abiri, journalist arrested by DSS


Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Thursday night, said Jones Abiri, the man arrested by the Department of State Services, DSS, is not a journalist and does not belong to any chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ.
Shehu said Abiri was arrested for pipeline vandalism and crude theft, including militant activities in the Niger Delta.
The presidential spokesman was reacting to a statement at the World Congress of International Press Institu
