Somalia: Somalia WASH Cluster Dashboard (as of 28 February 2019)

Source: UN Children s Fund, WASH Cluster Country: Somalia
Overview (as of 28th February 2019) Parts of Puntland and Somaliland continue to experience severe drought conditions which have affected hundreds of thousands of people with most of them moving from rural to urban areas or other rural areas where they anticipate receiving aid. The situation is expected to worsen in the coming weeks owing to the depletion of available water resources in affected areas. In the south, some parts of the Shabelle river in the lower reaches have dried up and this decreasing trend is expected to continue in the next weeks as no rains are foreseen. Therefore, water availability for human and animal use will continue to deteriorate until the river levels increase.
