Madagascar: In Madagascar, measles deaths are more about money than ‘vaccine hesitancy’

In a healthcare centre in the Madagascan capital of Antananarivo nine-year-old Faneva inches his arm forward. The nurse disinfects his skin before inserting the needle. A few seconds later, it’s all over. The young boy smiles in relief. This is the front line of efforts to combat Madagascar’s deadliest measles outbreak in living memory.
