El Gobierno de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela envió a Cuba un cargamento con materiales de construcción y otros insumos para rehabilitar estructuras afectadas en la isla, luego del tornado ocurrido el pasado 27 de enero.
Tanques de agua, puertas, ventanas, diversos materiales de construcción, tractores entre otros insumos, llegaron a Cuba este viernes provenientes de Venezuela para contribuir en las labores de reconstrucción de las zonas afectadas.
El Comandante del buque que trasladó los materiales, Capitán Vladimir Maldonado, detalló que en cumplimiento con las instrucciones dadas por el presidente de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, los organismos de Protección Civil, La Fuerza Armada Nacional Bolivariana (Fanb) y las Misiones de protección social, se enfocaron reunir el material que fue embarcado hasta La Habana.
Por su parte, el primer viceministro de Comercio Exterior e Inversión Extranjera, Antonio Carricarte, expresó su agradecimiento al Gobierno y pueblo de Venezuela en nombre de las autoridades cubanas y de los afectados por el tornado. “Tiene un incalculable valor en el proceso ético de recuperación que lleva la capital”, dijo.
El funcionario cubano agregó que el gesto humanitario se hace en un momento donde “Venezuela está sufriendo severas limitaciones ocasionadas por el cerco económico y financiero que le impone el imperialismo, por eso agradecemos doblemente este en nombre de los damnificados, del pueblo cubano y sus autoridades, les expresamos el más profundo agradecimiento al pueblo y a las autoridades de Venezuela”, manifestó Carricarte.
